Students in Star Career Academy’s Paramedic Training Program do not have to imagine “saving lives” is their job description. This highly in-demand, and rewarding career is a reality.
A person relies on the expertise of these caregivers during a stressful time. A qualified paramedic must have interpersonal skills, physical strength, compassion and problem-solving skills, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition to these qualities, you must have earned a high school diploma, CPR certification, and complete a formal paramedic training program.
Paramedic Training Program
The Paramedic Program at Star Career Academy’s Philadelphia Campus is designed for the Basic Level EMT to advance his/her skills. While being nationally recognized as one of the highest levels of prehospital care providers, the paramedic is in charge of providing care in the field, as well as directing the efforts of others providing care. Students participate in an intense curriculum which includes training in 12-lead EKGs, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Hazardous Materials Recognition. Paramedics have a variety of career opportunities, including 911 advanced life support, and critical and neonatal care transports.
